The Grove Park Charitable Trust

The Grove Park Charitable Trust (GPCT) is a UK registered charity, 1162801.

The GPCT serves the additional needs of pupils and students attending Acre Wood Academy, a maintained special school in Crowborough, East Sussex. 

A typical PTA (Parent Teacher Association) you may find in most mainstream schools isn’t as straightforward or feasible and this is why Grove Park Charitable Trust was formed. It is run by a team of volunteers which include school staff, members of the local community and parents who all give their time voluntarily to support the school.

The purpose of the GPCT is to raise funds to provide resources, equipment and learning experiences, which are not funded within the schools budget.

GPCT trustees have put in place a multi-year plan that will benefit pupils and students across all three phases of the school, taking into account the interest and desires of parents, teachers, staff and the IEB.

With Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form sites throughout Crowborough, Acre Wood Academy is an integral part of the community. We are grateful to the local businesses and community groups who have so generously supported us over the years, and welcome your continued support in raising funds to provide resources, equipment and learning experiences, which are not funded within the schools budget.

How parents and individual supporters can help:

• Give us your ideas about what the school needs and how funds raised should be spent
• Organise individual or group fundraising events
• Ask your employer if they match funds for money raised by you
• If you have your own business, consider making a tax-deductible charitable contribution

How local businesses can help:

• Organise group fundraising events with your employees
• Consider a match gift for funds raised by your employees
• Sponsor a new piece of equipment or school trip
• Create a giving tree for your employees to purchase Father Christmas gifts for Grove Park School pupils
• Place a GPCT money collection pot on the counter of your business (we will provide)
